LIVRE audio

Cardboard boxes, inkjet printed booklets on paper (23 pages), CD player, digital sound 04’55’’ min. Variable dimensions. Images: Installation view at the Nouvelle Librarie Française/Institut Franco-Portugais, Lisbon. 2008

‘LIVRE audio’ was produced for the exhibition program ’Para a Internidade…’ curated by Catarina Marto, at the bookstore of the Nouvelle Librarie Française/Institut Franco-Portugais (Lisbon, Portugal) in 2008.

This invitation resulted in a site-specific installation which includes an audio piece and a self-printed booklet. The work’s title is a parody of the term ‘audio book’ – back then, a new form of book distribution.

The publication compiles successful and unsuccessful market strategies, news items, real and fictional stories from the literary world, accompanied by a performative reading of the preface of ‘Men’s Fate’, by André Malraux, published by Livros do Brasil.
